Shipping options

We endeavor to fulfill all orders within two business days of receiving them. We try to notify customers if the delay will be longer than that, for example if we’re away selling at a HEMA event or the book is out of stock. All our shipments are insured and trackable.

HEMA Bookshelf is based in the Medford, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. Because some of our books, especially our facsimiles, are produced in the USA and must be shipped from here, our international shipping prices are based on that assumption. For this reason, standard shipping costs will sometimes exceed the price of our less expensive books.

However, some of the print services we use for non-facsimiles can print in the EU, Oceania, the UK, and other parts of the world and ship directly to you. If you place an order for these books and the shipping cost looks prohibitively high, you can select “Custom Quote” and we’ll notify you of the cheapest shipping option and send you a separate shipping bill if you agree (or refund your order if you decline).
