Paul Becker is a German historian, fencing teacher, officer and coach, who since his youth has devoted himself to the training and research of historical fencing arts and their history. From 2005-2018 Paul Becker was an officer in the German Army in the rank of a captain. There he studied history with a focus on the Middle Ages to a Master of Arts. In the military he was also a teacher and instructor in the fields of combat, fighting, sport, shooting, communication and security policy. Since the end of 2018, he has been running his fencing school IN MOTU full-time, developing and selling products for historical fencing. He also works as a freelance historian, where he was responsible for the exhibition "Iron Bestselling Sword and Armour in Craft and Society" as curator. His current research focuses on German-speaking fencing masters of the 14th-15th century and the fencing didactics of the German fencing art of this period.
